Many of our customers here at Danner Spray Foam are farmers and we wanted to take time to appreciate the ongoing battle farmers have against rodents and educate on the differences of spray foam and fiberglass insulation in agricultural buildings like barns, sheds, lean-to, pole barns, etc.


Most farmers have some sort of rodent control that keeps the mice and rat population down although as most know rodents do not quit. Rodents like warm, dark places, near food and water source. We often find rodents nesting in grain bins or under silos but many forget that batt fiberglass insulation is a great nesting spot because it is warm and they can tunnel through easily unseen.


At Danner Spray Foam we work with closed cell spray foam because it is more cost efficient than open cell spray foam, is water resistant, will seal air gaps which will deter mice from entry, is a faster application process, holds up long term, and is generally tougher for rodents to tunnel / chew through.
